10 Keys to Improve Productivity

1. Prioritize your efforts - Steven Covey makes a distinction between things that are

urgent and things that are important. Focus your efforts on the important items first.

2. Simplify your environment - Clutter creates stress. You feel like you have more work

to do when you are in a cluttered environment.

3. Follow up within 24 hours - Return all business emails and phone calls within 24

hours, lingering communication creates a feeling of clutter.

4. Listen intently to others - When you allow thoughts to interrupt your listening, you

create anxiety for yourself because you cannot respond to your thoughts nor can

you completely take in what the other person is telling you.

5. Decide what you are willing to give up in order to get what you want - Whether it

is time, money, or sleep. You make choices about what want, and what the cost

will be. Recognize the need to give something up in order to receive something new.

6. Spend time in reflection daily - When you create a space for inner stillness your

mind will release the background noise of the world and become clearer and stronger

    when you return.

7. Simplify your tasks - Where do you spend excess time? Create simple systems to

   handle everyday tasks.

8. Create a strong personal foundation - When your boundaries are strong and your

   standards are high, problems disappear.

9. Simplify your life - A complicated life seeks problems.

10. Eliminate tolerations - Identify those things you are tolerating and get rid of them.
